Great PM BookEasy to digest and the examples emphasize the necessity of following project management principles。 I would recommend this to everyone。

I am reading the book it is interesting and easy to understand。 I like it and it is making me read it fast。 But I do not why it says it is based on the PMBOK standard but there are some processes in initiating chapter that does not belong to the initiating process group?!

Stephanie Keyes

Excellent! I bought this book the day I was assigned to a new role as a PM。 I have very minimal experience working in this capacity。 Whenever I had to have a new challenge this book had just the right information to share。 It’s been invaluable to me。 Bottom line: Would definitely recommend。 Highly relevant and a great use of time。。

This book got 4 stars - even though it is written is self-help format because it is a must-read for all managers or someone who wants to make a difference in the organization in which they work。 With several real-life stories applied to basic PMP concepts, it allows the novice in PMP to understand the why and how to basic PMP ideas。 This is another book that my team will be rewarded if they complete。

Matt Speer

Nice and easy reading book。 Good example stories to help explain concepts。 Time permitting, will probably reread this one in the future。 Did not take long at all to read and was quite helpful。

کتابی بود در حوزه کاری و خب تجربه ارزشمندی بود برام

Useful and easy read for those who haven‘t had any to none PM training。I read this in about 24 hours and it gave me ideas on how to address certain elements of a project and tools that I can use to deliver my work more sufficiently。 Definitely recommend!

A gentle, practical book about project management in general。 What I admire the most is the fact that authors break the steps in management into relatable cases within every chapter。 For someone who has nearly zero experiences in this field, this book is a no-brainer。 #And possibly open up a new realm of management skillsets and attraction to master it。

Erica

A surprisingly fun book on project management, very accessible, and I loved the stories given as examples-I became very invested!

I'm not entirely sure what I was hoping for out of this one, but I feel like I got perhaps an organized presentation of things I already knew。 Project management is not a part of work that I enjoy but it's sometimes inevitable。 The stories in this book pad out the length too much, illustrating points that don't necessarily need it, although other readers may find them to be more helpful than I did。 Reading the book perhaps helped me organize my thoughts about project management, and put names to I'm not entirely sure what I was hoping for out of this one, but I feel like I got perhaps an organized presentation of things I already knew。 Project management is not a part of work that I enjoy but it's sometimes inevitable。 The stories in this book pad out the length too much, illustrating points that don't necessarily need it, although other readers may find them to be more helpful than I did。 Reading the book perhaps helped me organize my thoughts about project management, and put names to existing approaches, but I'm not sure if I took away anything very new。 That said, for folks new to managing, either teams or projects, I suspect this could be worth their time。 。。。more

I feel that this book could be a useful and practical introductory tool for teaching others about project management。 So many people execute projects without realizing they can move beyond seeing their work as merely a collection of tasks。

I like the quick techniques presented, which can be used by almost anyone in any field!

Rachel Townsend

Of project management books for ‘unofficial’ project managers it’s good。 The language isn’t too obscure to make reading it a challenge。 It’s good foundational read to set up for deeper understanding of project management and has enough information to support some implementation immediately。

Michael Cook

Really useful book - clearly stated roles and responsibilities。 Would like it to have more on learning from past projects but that may just be personal KM bias。 This is a skillset I want to develop and this will help

Hailey

A lot more digestible than most PM books out there。 Lots of real world examples on how to generate informal authority and deal with difficult team members/stake holders。

Slava Pie

Это очень упрощённый PMBOK。 Неплохой гайд по софтскиллам ПМа。 Подойдёт для тех, кому нужно делать проекты на работе, но они не работают ПМами。

Rima

This book had a lot of good information on how to successfully manage a project and items to watch out for。

Andrew Formica

Great overview of the stages, principles, and tools used in project management。 Helpful for me to help define the jobs we need to have completed at my work。 A lot of it is what I already intuited, but it’s super helpful to have the framework defined and clarified。

This guide was a quick, easy read and a helpful overview of the Project Management process。 Much of the material did seem a bit intuitive, but it was still helpful to have it synthesized in one source。 I was worried this would be another silicon-valley how-to-spend-more-time-at-work book, but I would say the authors did a decent job of (mostly) staying away from the cheesy, entrepreneurial buzz-words and presenting a clear guide on how to be more organized, and more effectively use one's "inform This guide was a quick, easy read and a helpful overview of the Project Management process。 Much of the material did seem a bit intuitive, but it was still helpful to have it synthesized in one source。 I was worried this would be another silicon-valley how-to-spend-more-time-at-work book, but I would say the authors did a decent job of (mostly) staying away from the cheesy, entrepreneurial buzz-words and presenting a clear guide on how to be more organized, and more effectively use one's "informal authority" to help guide the success of a team。 。。。more

I have read several books about project management and found them quite dry and unrealistic。 This book, however, offers more realistic scenarios and focuses on people and processes。 I found the four foundational behaviours and the emphasis on communication very useful。

Antonio

Good initial book if you never had formal training in managing projects。 Too basic/redundant if you already have at least an initial level qualification and/or attended any workshop on the topic。

Lindsay May

Very practical。

Katherine Morgan

I enjoyed this book。Another book I wish I had read years ago。 It was a quick overview of projects and how they are run in terms of milestones, planning。 Sample forms to use。 A quick read。

Markos Markakis

Provides an interesting framework for applying common-sense scheduling and communication strategies in the context of project management。 No big surprises here, but the structured approach is definitely useful。 Could have been more succinct。

Celia Ludwinski

A pretty good book about how to approach project management。 Generally it leads with the idea that while you are critical to leading a project to success, you're not at fault for failures。 Rather, your failure as a PM is if you don't communicate clearly and transparently and if you don't inspire or guide your team well。 A pretty good book about how to approach project management。 Generally it leads with the idea that while you are critical to leading a project to success, you're not at fault for failures。 Rather, your failure as a PM is if you don't communicate clearly and transparently and if you don't inspire or guide your team well。 。。。more

It's a fast reading book。 there are some fundamental subjects that we must know about projects and it mentioned those。 but it's not a deep learning book。 it's just about the information you need to know about PM。 It's a fast reading book。 there are some fundamental subjects that we must know about projects and it mentioned those。 but it's not a deep learning book。 it's just about the information you need to know about PM。 。。。more
